In line with Egypt’s strategic vision 2030 and sustainable development goals

 ADCB and ElSewedy Electric  Foundation sign a protocol in cooperation with EBRD

to provide for the first time at ElSewedy Technical Academy the opportunity for people with special needs in Technical Education

Cairo on September 13th.- Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank Egypt signed a protocol with El Sewedy Electric  Foundation and with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development EBRD to enroll the first  batch of people with special needs in  technical education and vocational training through El Sewedy Technical Academy for Dual Technical Education (3 years), which grants students of the Academy a Diploma from  the Ministry of Education and Technical Education. Within the framework of this protocol, the bank provides financial  sponsorship to a number of students with hearing  difficulties to enroll and study at El Sewedy Technical Academy for Dual Technical Education in the Academy’s branch at the 10th of Ramadan city , to study and specialize in the field of readymade garments technician for a period of three academic years starting from 2022/2023 academic year.

The signing ceremony took place at the headquarters of the El Sewedy Electric Foundation, endorsed by Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Mr. Ihab El Sewerky, the Managing Director and CEO of the bank, and by El Sewedy Electric Foundation, Eng. Ahmed ElSewedy , Chairman of the Board of Trustees of ElSewedy Electric Foundation . The signing was also witnessed by Mr. Khaled Hamza, EBRD Director of Egypt office and in the presence of a number of senior managers from all participating institutions.

Raising their skills through theoretical study and practical training in line with the needs of the labor market, which will have a positive impact on creating job opportunities to support various industries and the stability and growth of society.”

This step comes as a continuation of the educational scholarships recently launched by Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank for university education for people of determination. In the same context, the bank had launched “Irada” package with specialized banking and non-banking benefits for people of determination, topped by a low-interest loan to support their needs.

This cooperation comes to support integration for people with special abilities for the first time at ElSewedy Technical Academy, which  provides accessibility and equal opportunities for all without discrimination . Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank will sponsor 22 male and female students in the field of readymade garments for a period of 3 years .

He added that the ElSewedy Technical Academy always seeks to develop technical education in Egypt through establishing partnerships with major supporting Institutions to bridge the gap between technical education and the labor market and provide distinguished employment opportunities for our graduates.

Mr. Khaled Hamza, Director of Egypt Office at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development stated, “The EBRD’s empowerment of the private sector extends to people with special needs, as we work proactively with our client institutions to improve their human resource policies and practices in order to activate and recruit more people with special needs and stimulating their participation. We work with institutions by providing training for the full integration of this category of employees.”

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development provides the necessary funding to appoint a group of consultants and experts to monitor the needs and provide technical support to a group of twenty-two students with special abilities, as well as to design and develop appropriate educational curricula for students at ElSewedy Technical Academy.

ElSewedy Technical Academy was established in 2011 as a commitment from El Sewedy Electric Group for community development and the development of technical education and vocational training in Egypt in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education in a dual education system for three years, and the study is based on practical training of 80% in partner factories and 20% theoretical education at school.

ElSewedy Technical Academy grants accredited international certificates, whether from Finland or from the German Chamber of Commerce according to each specialty, in addition to the advantages it provides to its students. The Academy is also keen on applying and using technology in education, and converting some educational materials into electronic interactive materials in more than 16 fields and specializations.
