As part of its corporate social responsibility strategy and steadfast commitment to sustainable development, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank – Egypt announced the signing of a partnership agreement with Ommar Al Ard Foundation to implement an integrated development program titled “Shelter… Warmth & Empowerment.” The initiative targets the most underprivileged villages in Atfih , underscoring the Bank’s commitment to embedding social impact within its institutional priorities and adopting a development-driven model that delivers sustainable social value and improves quality of life for local communities.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Ihab ElSewerky, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank – Egypt, and Mr. Mostafa Hosny, Chairman of Ommar Al Ard Foundation, in the presence of senior representatives from both institutions.
The “Satr… Warmth & Empowerment” initiative represents a practical extension of the Bank’s efforts to support underserved communities and serves as a comprehensive development model. The program includes housing rehabilitation through roof construction, seasonal food assistance, distribution of blankets and Eid clothing for children, and the implementation of small and medium-sized income-generating projects targeting women in the villages. These efforts aim to create sustainable sources of income and enhance economic inclusion at the local level.
On this occasion, Mr. Ihab ElSewerky, Managing Director and CEO of Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank – Egypt, stated “This project comes within the framework of the bank’s corporate social responsibility strategy and its commitment to implementing its plan for achieving sustainable development. The bank adopts an integrated vision that balances achieving banking growth with maximizing social impact. Empowering the most economically vulnerable groups is a fundamental pillar for supporting sustainable development, and the bank is keen to establish effective partnerships with civil society organizations to ensure the implementation of initiatives with a long-term impact and real added value for society.”
For his part, Mr. Mostafa Hosny said that the initiative supports the Foundation’s vision of assisting hardworking families, particularly in remote villages, by securing their basic needs—including food and warmth—and by providing sustainable income opportunities to improve their economic conditions and enable them to lead dignified lives.
This step builds on Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank – Egypt’s broader efforts throughout 2025, including the “Back to School” initiative implemented in collaboration with Ommar Al Ard Foundation and Mervat Sultan Foundation. The initiative supported the educational process by providing school supplies, organizing a comprehensive medical convoy for children that included medical examinations, dispensing medications, providing eyeglasses, and performing necessary surgeries—reflecting a practical approach to identifying and addressing the actual needs of local communities.
These initiatives are aligned with Egypt Vision 2030 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to poverty alleviation, social justice, women’s empowerment, and improving living standards. They further reinforce Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank – Egypt’s position as a financial institution that integrates social responsibility into its core strategy while promoting financial inclusion and supporting Egypt’s comprehensive development agenda.
