Green Deals and Partnerships
1. UNIDO's "Inclusive Green Growth in Egypt
The main objective of the program to support the transition to a more inclusive, green, and circular economy, besides providing technical assistance to strength ADCB- Egypt team’s capacities to understand and finance various aspects of the green economy in Egypt.
- UNIDO supports inclusive green growth by:
- Helping industries to transform to environmentally friendly ones,
- Assisting small businesses,
- Creating new green jobs for youth and women,
- Implementing sustainable development projects.

2. Egyptian Pollution Abatement Program:
EPAP is the largest project in the Middle East to combat industrial pollution and utilize cleaner production technologies in Egyptian industry. It is an initiative of the Ministry of Environment to help the SMEs Industrial Firms to enhance their environmental considerations by providing financial grants and incentives starting from (10%-30%) from the total cost of the financed projects.
The program introduces cleaner production methods into industrial processes through optimal use of natural resources, circularity, emissions reduction, management of industrial waste and drainage through the application of environmental management systems, and practical ways and means to prevent pollution at the source. Technical support is also provided to all types of small and medium, especially energy- and resource-intensive industries, in order to achieve environmental compliance in accordance with environmental laws, regulations and international agreements in order to achieve sustainable development goals.

3. National Authority for Tunnels
Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank – Egypt signed an EGP 4.5 billion syndicated loan with the National Authority for Tunnels to grant a long-term credit facility with the purpose of financing the renewal of metro and railway lines, the light rail transit (LRT) project, the monorail, and electric train projects. This comes in line with the state’s orientation to expand investment in the transportation sector, by supporting clean transportation projects, especially since this support contributes significantly to enhancing the efficiency of the state’s infrastructure.
ADCB- Egypt contributed with EGP 3 billion to the loan, and participated as the first lead arranger, security agent, and financing agent for the loan. This cooperation comes within the framework of supporting the state’s efforts to raise the efficiency of services provided by the transportation sector to citizens with the aim of improving the quality of life. It is worth noting that this financing comes within the framework of ADCB’s strategy to support sustainable development projects with the aim of reducing the carbon footprint, limiting pollution and adapting to climate change aligning with SDGs, Egypt Vision 2030 and National Climate Change Strategy.

4. Chapter Zero Egypt
ADCB-E has become a member at Chapter Zero Egypt (CZE) since 2023. CZE is an Egyptian Association and part of the global Climate Governance Initiative, an initiative in collaboration with the World Economic Forum. CZE aims to educate and activate board members to include climate issues in companies’ strategies and encourage the transition to net-zero emissions.
